Compass Window Tinting Paint protection film (PPF) FAQ
At Compass Window Tinting we pride ourself in not only our PPF application abilities, but our customer relationships as well! We have compiled some FAQ’s that we get from our valued Everett customers.
Paint protection film (PPF) is a clear vinyl that is made from a virtually invisible urethane. It can be applied on any painted area that is requiring protection from stone chips, light scratches and other road debris you can come across on the Everett harsh roads. Top quality vinyl films feature self healing properties, and superior stain resistance.
Correct, it can! However, paint protection film (PPF) does have its limitations. It’s designed to self-heal light scratches and minor stone chips. The self-healing layer is the top coat of the PPF, which is about 13 microns thick. If this top layer is penetrated, the PPF will not heal.
Yes, thanks to our specialized preparation method at Compass Window Tinting, our paint protection films can be safely removed without leaving any glue residue or surface damage. This is provided that the paint is factory original or has been refinished by a factory-approved body shop.
