The fee for our service is the agreed dollar amount, indicated as “Total Cost” on the service order. The term of service is for the amount of time reserved by us to complete the “job” you requested and not for any specific outcome. A 50% deposit is required at the time you book your appointment to hold that time for you. The balance is due in full upon completion. We accept cash, checks, Zelle, Venmo, and major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover). For accounting purposes, please write cashier’s checks payable to Compass Tinting LLC. Please do not leave any payments in the vehicle. A fee of $30 will be charged for non-sufficient funds checks returned by the bank to us. In the event an account requires legal or collection action, you agree to pay all costs of the collection without limitations for reasonable attorney fees, interest on the past due amount, court costs, and all collection costs.

PAST DUE OR OPEN INVOICES
Customer understands that all payments are to be made prior to the release of the vehicle to the owner. Any invoices that go unpaid over 15 days will receive a late fee penalty. After the first 15 days past due, an email will be sent to inform you of the past due amount. Late fee penalties are $250 every 15 days the invoice goes unpaid beyond the completion date until paid in full.

REPOSSESSION AND MECHANIC’S LIEN

I understand that  repaired vehicles may be repossessed for returned checks, credit card chargebacks, or credit card stop payments. You will also be liable for the cost of repossession fees or other incurred expenses. By signing below, you have read this work order and agree for Compass Tinting LLC to perform services on your vehicle.

NOTICE TO PURSUE MECHANIC’S LIEN

NOTICE TO VEHICLE OWNER
This vehicle may be subject to repossession in accordance with Washington State law RCW 62A.9A-609, which permits the repossession of a vehicle if payment for services or products is dishonored. We reserve the right to adjust any over-the-phone cost or time estimate after we have visually inspected your vehicle. A written estimate is valid for 30 days. An estimate is not binding beyond 30 days of the date of the estimate or if the vehicle condition changes between the time the vehicle was inspected and the scheduled appointment.

WINDOW FILM GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

DRYING TIME
After the completion of a new window film installation, it takes 2-3 days before rolling down or cleaning the windows. The window film will take 3-4 weeks to fully cure, depending on weather conditions.

STEREO, AMPLIFIERS, AFTERMARKET EQUIPMENT
Please inform us of any hidden electrical equipment that may react adversely to water, as well as any hidden areas where water may be used during installation. Compass Tinting LLC is not liable for any damages caused to hidden electronics or equipment that are not disclosed before service.

SPEAKERS
Most speaker cones are made of polypropylene (plastic), which is water-resistant. However, it is recommended that the stereo not be used for 12 hours after installation to allow any stray moisture to dry.

BLACK DOTTED EDGES
Most vehicles have a black ceramic edge on the side and rear windows; these ceramic edges are either flat or dotted. The thickness of these ceramic dots prevents the window film from adhering to the area between them, resulting in a whitish strip along the edges. This is an unavoidable effect and is considered normal.

SHADE / COLOR
Once a film has been selected and installed, there are no refunds due to dissatisfaction with the appearance, shade, or color.

FILM, BADGE, & DECAL REMOVAL
The removal of film, badges, or decals may cause damage to the paint, glass, and defroster. By authorizing Compass Tinting LLC to proceed with the removal, the client acknowledges the risk, waives any claims against Compass Tinting LLC, and agrees that Compass Tinting LLC will not be liable in the event of damage during the removal process.

IMPERFECTIONS
Though we strive for perfection, due to the nature of the window film product, some degree of dust contamination or minor imperfections may occur in every installation. Pre-existing flaws, scratches, or metal deposits on the glass may become more noticeable after the windows are tinted. Older vehicles are likely to show more imperfections due to age.

WINDSHIELD FILM INSTALLATION
Minor imperfections are inherent in every windshield film installation, and they may be more noticeable due to their location on the front windshield. Do not apply decals, or windshield accessories, or use any cleaning agents on the windshield for 7 days. There is no refund or warranty coverage for the rainbow effect caused by polarized sunglasses.

MAINTENANCE

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your window film, proper maintenance is crucial. Clean your windows regularly using a mild, non-abrasive cleaner and a soft cloth or sponge. Avoid using harsh chemicals, ammonia-based products, or abrasive materials, as these can damage the film’s surface. Following these maintenance guidelines will help preserve the film’s appearance and functionality over time.

WASHINGTON LAW
Washington law mandates that the driver and passenger front-side windows must meter at or above 24% VLT. Washington law also permits a clear (untinted) UV film or a 6-inch visor to be installed on the front windshield. Customers who install films not in compliance with Washington law release Compass Tinting LLC from all liability.

WARRANTY COVERAGE

Depending on the type of film you choose, most window film manufacturers provide warranties that protect against defects in materials or workmanship. These warranties may cover issues such as bubbling, peeling, fading, or discoloration of the film. It is important to review the specific terms and conditions of the warranty associated with your selected film to understand what is covered. Familiarizing yourself with the warranty will offer peace of mind and ensure you know your recourse in the event of any issues.

WARRANTY PERIOD

The warranty coverage begins on the date the product is installed and extends for the period of time that the original registered owner owns the vehicle. This warranty terminates upon any sale of the vehicle unless arranged by a previously agreed proxy, such as an authorized automobile reseller.

NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY: This warranty is voided by, and Compass Tinting does not cover and hereby disclaims all liability for any loss, damage, expense, or cost resulting from the following:

  • Installation of the product (whether or not performed by the dealer or a “Certified” installer).
  • Improper product care, maintenance, or cleaning.
  • Product abuse.
  • Glass breakage.
  • Non-automotive applications and/or non-compliant film uses.
  • Any other acts, defects, or damages not caused by Compass Tinting.

Note: This Product is to be used in compliance with all applicable laws, statutes, rules, regulations and ordinances (“Laws”) of the applicable country, state, province or local jurisdiction including, without limitation, tinted window laws. FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH SUCH LAWS VOIDS THE WARRANTY. IT IS THE AUTOMOBILE’S OWNER’S RESPONSIBILITY TO COMPLY WITH ALL APPLICABLE LAWS.

IWFA (INTERNATIONAL WINDOW FILM ASSOCIATION) AUTOMOTIVE INSPECTION GUIDELINES

AUTOMOTIVE VISUAL INSPECTION GUIDELINE FOR APPLIED WINDOW FILM
Effective January 1, 2020

  1. Installed automotive film on glass surfaces is not expected to have the same level of visual quality as untreated glass. The following criteria apply to the installed film only and do not extend to any inherent defects in the glass itself.
  2. During installation, a surfactant or slip agent solution in water is used to apply the film to the glass. Excess water is then squeegeed out, but some residual water will inevitably remain between the film and the glass, affecting visual clarity initially.
  3. This residual water will temporarily affect the film’s visual clarity and its full adhesion to the glass. The time needed for full adhesion is referred to as the “adhesive cure time” but is more accurately the “drying time” of the residual moisture. Adhesion gradually increases to the normal expected level during this period. The drying time depends on the thickness of the film, specialized coatings, and external factors such as climate and vehicle storage conditions.
  4. Certain high-performance films with special coatings may require a longer cure time. Please consult the film manufacturer for specific cure times related to these films.
  5. Inspections for visual quality can be made before full cure is achieved. Note that visual effects during the drying process, such as water distortion or haze, are normal and should not be considered defects.
  6. For inspection purposes, the glass with the applied film should be viewed at right angles from both inside and outside the vehicle, from a distance of approximately 3 feet, and in natural daylight.
  7. The installation is considered acceptable if any of the following are unobtrusive when viewed from 3 feet away: dirt particles, hair, fibers, adhesive gels, fingerprints, air bubbles, water haze, scores, scratches, film distortion, creases, edge lift, nicks, or tears. The presence of these should be judged while looking through the film installation in natural daylight.
  8. The top edge of the film may have a gap of 1/32 to 1/16 inch (1-2 mm) to prevent the film from lifting due to contact with the window gasket when the window is raised or lowered. In some cases, where top-edge shaving has been performed, there may be no visible gap.

ARCHITECTURAL WINDOW FILM GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Disclaimers & Disclosures

Thank you for choosing Compass Tinting LLC (dba Compass Window Tinting). The following information outlines international window film industry standards and expectations for architectural window tinting installation services. These guidelines are provided to help set appropriate expectations and are based on information from the International Window Film Association (IWFA).

CURING & DRYING TIME

Installed commercial and residential window films on flat glass surfaces are not expected to match the visual clarity of untreated glass. The following criteria apply to the installed film only and not to any inherent defects in the glass itself.

Adhesive Cure Time

After installation, the film may take time to fully adhere due to the water-based application solution used during installation. While excess water is squeegeed out, some residual moisture remains between the film and glass, which can take time to evaporate.

Factors Influencing Cure Time

The time for full adhesion and clarity (often referred to as “adhesive cure time”) will vary depending on the film’s thickness, specialized coatings, and environmental factors such as sunlight and temperature.

Extended Curing Periods

Films with high-performance coatings may require a longer cure time. Please consult the film manufacturer for detailed information regarding expected cure times for specific films.

VISUAL INSPECTION

Inspection Timing

Visual inspection for optical quality can be conducted before the film has fully cured. However, certain effects like water bubbles, distortion, and haze during the drying phase should not be considered defects and are expected to diminish over time.

Inspection Conditions

Inspections should be conducted at right angles to the glass from inside the room at a distance of no less than 6 feet (2 meters), and under natural daylight conditions (not direct sunlight).

Acceptable Imperfections

The installation is considered acceptable if the following minor imperfections are not visually intrusive: dirt particles, fibers, adhesive gels, fingerprints, air bubbles, water haze, minor scratches, film distortion, creases, edge lift, nicks, or tears. Inspections can be carried out one day after installation.

Perimeter Allowances: A 2-inch (50mm) wide band around the perimeter of the window may contain some particles, especially in cases where the window frame condition does not allow for flawless installation.

EDGE GAPS

Standard Edge Gaps

Normal edge gaps for window film installation range between 1/32 and 1/16 inch (1-4mm). This allows for water to be effectively removed during the installation process and prevents the film from being lifted by the window frame.

Safety Films

For thicker security films, edge gaps may extend up to 1/8 inch (5mm). Combination solar control and safety films may also follow these standards, with an edge gap of up to 1/16 inch (2mm) to minimize the visible light line at the edges.

NIGHT-TIME VISIBILITY

Effect on Visibility

Window tinting can alter the amount of light passing through windows, which may impact visibility both indoors and outdoors, especially during nighttime. While tinting provides privacy, glare reduction, and UV protection, it can also affect natural lighting and aesthetic appearance.

Client Responsibility

The client assumes all responsibility for any impact on visibility, lighting, or aesthetic preferences caused by window tinting. For night-time privacy, it is necessary to choose the appropriate film, or ensure that the exterior surface is sufficiently brighter than the interior for the tint to reflect light effectively.

SECURITY FILMS

Security Enhancement

Security films are designed to slow down unauthorized entry by holding shattered glass together. However, they are not a guaranteed deterrent to break-ins. We recommend additional security measures such as cameras or alarms in high-risk areas.

Attachment Systems

For increased protection, the security film can be attached to the window frame with an attachment system. This system helps keep the glass bonded to the frame, providing additional strength against impacts.

HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION (HOA) RESTRICTIONS

HOA Compliance

While many of the films we offer are compliant with HOA guidelines, we advise all customers to check with their Homeowners Association (HOA) before proceeding with any window film installation.

Responsibility of Property Owners

It is the responsibility of the property owner to obtain HOA approval and ensure compliance. Compass Tinting LLC and its suppliers are not responsible for any penalties or citations issued by an HOA due to unapproved modifications.

Glass Breakage: Under this Limited Warranty, Compass Tinting hereby warrants that in the event of glass breakage occurring during or after the installation of window tint, the cost of glass replacement shall be covered, provided, however, that such coverage shall not exceed the total amount paid by the customer to Compass Tinting for the window tint installation. This warranty is further conditioned upon the authorized installer conducting all necessary inspections and verifying that the glass was free from any pre-existing defects prior to the installation. The installer is also required to adhere to the film-to-glass compatibility chart and take into account all relevant factors.

Non-Transferrable Warranty and Seal Failure
Seal Failure: Under this Limited Warranty, the customer must work directly with Compass Tinting to process any claims. To be eligible for this Warranty, the customer must provide Compass Tinting with a valid and non-expired window manufacturer’s warranty against seal failure at the time of the claim, except for exclusions specified below. Compass Tinting reserves the right to have a local representative inspect the affected window(s) before approving any claims. Approval of any claims is at the sole discretion of Compass Tinting, based on a review of whether the installer performed all relevant checks to ensure the window was not likely to experience this issue after the installation of window film. If a claim is approved, Compass Tinting will pay for glass replacement costs not to exceed the original amount paid for the window tint installation job. Compass Tinting does not cover damage caused by improper product installation, application, care, cleaning, or maintenance; abnormal conditions; abuse; misuse; normal wear and tear; accidents; intentional damage; improper or unauthorized repairs; or any other acts or defects unrelated solely to the materials or workmanship of the film.

Please note that buildings with a prior history of seal failure or thermal glass breakage are not eligible for glass breakage or seal failure coverage under this Limited Warranty. In the event of multiple failures on one or more filmed windows, Compass Tinting reserves the right to remove all applied window film and reimburse the customer only for the amount of the original installation cost.

Disclaimer
This Limited Warranty covers only the conditions stated herein and does not extend beyond the description provided. Compass Tinting makes no warranties of fitness for a particular purpose or merchantability applicable to the products. This Limited Warranty does not cover custom products or poor installation techniques, including but not limited to squeegeeing, trimming, and measuring errors.

Compass Tinting is not liable or responsible for any loss or damage, including but not limited to direct, indirect, or consequential damages arising from the installation or use of the product, except as expressly set forth herein. The warranties and remedies described in this document are the only warranties and remedies available, and they are in lieu of all other warranties and remedies, express or implied.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Compass Tinting and its authorized installers are not liable for any indirect, special, incidental, exemplary, consequential, or other damages arising out of the installation or use of the product. The amount of damages the customer may recover for any and all claims is limited to the price paid for the window tint installation job.

What Can You Expect After Installation?
As with all adhesive-based products, the adhesive must fully cure to achieve a proper bond to the glass. During this curing process, some visual changes may occur in the appearance of the film, which is normal and does not affect the film’s performance.

You may observe haziness, milky patches, bubbles, or an “orange peel effect.” These are temporary and will disappear as the adhesive cures. Curing can take from 3 to 90 days depending on the film type and environmental factors like weather, humidity, and sunlight. Curing typically happens faster in warmer conditions and slower during colder months.

Some small particles or “points” may remain visible from the exterior side of the glass; these are inherent in the film adhesives and do not affect the film’s performance or lifespan.

Note: Safety and Security film does not reach its full strength until the adhesive has fully cured.

Final Appraisal
Final inspection of the film should not occur until the curing process is complete. At that point, inspection should be conducted from a distance of approximately 2 meters (6 feet), focusing on viewing through the film, not at the film itself. Some visual imperfections may be attributable to the glass, not the film.

Cleaning and Maintenance
Your window film is made from tough, scratch-resistant polyester. However, improper care can damage the film. Follow these guidelines to prolong its lifespan:

Do not clean the film for at least 4 weeks after installation.
Avoid attaching anything to the film using adhesive or suction cups.
Do not use abrasive or ammonia-based cleaning products.
Use warm water and a mild detergent with a soft cloth or sponge.

Warranty Coverage Terms and Conditions
Coverage: Limited to the original property owner at the time of installation and subject to submission of the original warranty document signed by the installer.

Exclusions

IWFA (INTERNATIONAL WINDOW FILM ASSOCIATION) ARCHITECTURAL INSPECTION GUIDELINES

ARCHITECTURAL VISUAL INSPECTION GUIDELINE FOR APPLIED WINDOW FILM
Effective January 1, 2020

  1. Visual Quality: Installed film on flat glass is not expected to achieve the same clarity as untreated glass. The criteria below apply to the installed film only and not to any pre-existing defects in the glass.
  2. Curing Time: After installation, the film needs time for full adhesion due to the water-based installation process. Remaining moisture will gradually evaporate, and the film will continue to adhere more strongly over time.
  3. Inspection Timing: Visual quality inspection can occur before the film is fully cured. Effects such as water bubbles, distortion, and haze are normal during curing and should not be considered defects. Refer to the film manufacturer’s guidelines for typical cure times.
  4. Inspection Conditions: Inspections should be performed at right angles from inside the room, at a minimum distance of 6 feet (2 meters) from the glass, and under natural daylight (not direct sunlight). The normal vision area should be inspected, excluding a 2-inch (50mm) band around the perimeter.
  5. Acceptable Blemishes: The installation is acceptable if the following are unobtrusive: dirt particles, fibers, adhesive gels, fingerprints, air bubbles, water haze, minor scratches, film distortion, creases, edge lift, nicks, and tears. These effects during the cure time should be disregarded.
  6. Perimeter Imperfections: Minor particles within the 2-inch (50mm) wide band around the glass perimeter are acceptable, especially in cases where the window frame condition compromises the final quality.
  7. Edge Gaps: The normal edge gaps for film installations range from 1/32 inch to 1/16 inch (1-4mm). These gaps prevent contact with the window frame, which could lead to the film peeling.
  8. Safety Films: For thicker safety films, acceptable edge gaps are between 1/32 and 1/8 inch (1-5mm), especially for combination solar control safety films.
  9. Film Splicing: When large glass panels require splicing, the splice line should not be considered a defect. The line should be straight and parallel to the window frame, with a maximum gap of 1/64 inch (1mm).
  10. Extended Cure Times: Some high-performance films may require longer cure times. Consult the manufacturer for details.

PAINT PROTECTION FILM GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

ABOUT PAINT PROTECTION FILM (PPF)
Paint protection film is designed to protect your vehicle’s paint from chips, scratches, and swirl marks, and is typically 8 mils thick. The film is applied to the vehicle’s exterior paint and comes with a 10-year warranty against yellowing, staining, cracking, blistering, and delamination. The warranty does not cover damage from accidents or objects that penetrate the film.

DRYING TIME
Your new paint protection film will take 3-4 weeks to fully cure, depending on weather conditions. Do not wash your vehicle for 5 days. Vehicles should return for an inspection within 2-4 weeks.

CONDITION OF THE VEHICLE FOR PAINT PROTECTION FILM APPLICATION
The vehicle must not have any paint protection coatings (e.g., ceramic coatings) applied, as these can affect adhesion, causing lifting, bubbles, or other issues not covered under manufacturer warranties. The client acknowledges that the paint protection film is designed for OEM factory paint. The client waives and releases Compass Tinting LLC from any warranty or damage claims where the film is applied to a non-OEM painted surface.

PAINT ISSUES
Paint may lift on repainted panels or OEM paint if improperly prepped or painted. By authorizing Compass Tinting LLC to proceed with the installation, the client acknowledges the risk, waives any claims against Compass Tinting LLC, and agrees that Compass Tinting LLC will not be liable in the event of damage during installation.

PAINT CHIPS
Paint protection film is designed to prevent future paint chip damage. Installing PPF over existing paint chips may create an uneven surface, resembling contamination. We do not recommend touch-up on small paint chips before installation, as it may detract from the aesthetics of the film.

INSTALLATION
All PPF kits are computer-cut using specialized cutting software. Pre-cut kits may stop short of edges, badges, washers, or other parts. The customer understands that PPF is a sacrificial layer for your vehicle, not a completely invisible or matte layer. Customers may opt for a custom design fit or bulk installation for an additional fee.

RESTYLING PAINT PROTECTION FILM
Restyling paint protection films include clear matte, pattern, and color films. Badges, trims, and parts may need to be safely removed to ensure proper coverage. Vinyl inlays or seams may be necessary to cover OEM paint. There will be an additional charge for installing restyling films.

EXPOSED EDGES AND SEAMS
While we strive to wrap all edges, some may not be fully wrapped. Debris build-up on exposed edges/seams may be more visible on light-colored vehicles. Partial installations will have more noticeable debris due to exposed edges. Ceramic coating the film and vehicle is recommended to minimize debris build-up. There is no warranty for debris build-up on exposed edges.

HEADLIGHTS
Headlights are not recommended for PPF installation due to the nature of HID features and exterior coatings. By authorizing Compass Tinting LLC to proceed with headlight film installation, the customer acknowledges the risk, waives any claims against Compass Tinting LLC, and agrees that Compass Tinting LLC will not be liable in the event of damage during installation.

TRACK-DRIVEN VEHICLES
There is no warranty on paint protection film for any vehicle driven on the track or used off-road. We highly recommend ceramic coating the PPF and OEM paint to protect the vehicle from tar and debris encountered on the track.

IMPERFECTIONS
Though we strive for perfection, due to the nature of the product, some degree of dust contamination or minor imperfections may be present in every PPF application. Pre-existing flaws, scratches, rock chips, or misaligned body panels may become more visible after PPF is applied. Minor imperfections such as slight orange peel or other manufacturer defects may also occur. Vehicles with 200 or more miles are more likely to show imperfections due to use.

MANUFACTURER WARRANTY

  • Compass Tinting LLC guarantees its installation services. However, any warranty for the PPF is provided by the manufacturer. The film is designed to reduce the impact of minor road debris, but it is not guaranteed to prevent all damage. please check the manufacturer’s website for more Warranty information.
  • Track-driven vehicles are not covered by any PPF warranty.

DYNOseries PPF Manufacturer’s Warranty Coverage

THIS LIMITED PRODUCT WARRANTY COVERS STEK PAINT PROTECTION FILMS.

Warranty Coverage

VALID FROM DATE OF PURCHASE. COVERS DEFECTS IN MATERIALS AND MANUFACTURING AGAINST YELLOWING, BUBBLING OR CRACKING.

This warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, accidents, misapplication, normal wear and tear, dents from road debris impact, collisions, and/or intentional damage of any kind.

To file a claim, contact the original installer/dealer first. If unable to do so, contact STEK using the website www.stekautomotive.com, or www.stek-usa.com if in the United States.

You must retain a copy of this warranty and proof of purchase identifying the name of the original installer/dealer, purchase price, product (e.g., DYNOshield), and coverage areas. These documents are needed to process your claim.

Some installers may choose to offer, on their own behalf, different or additional warranties or remedies, beyond the limited warranty and limited remedy offered by STEK. Check your state and local laws before installing film on headlamps, as each state has different policies for aftermarket accessories. STEK does not cover paint protection film installed on headlamps and is not responsible for any resulting damages or fines.

For valid claims, an authorized STEK installer shall remove the defective film and reapply new product(s) to areas determined by STEK to be covered by the warranty.

ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES AND CONDITIONS, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED WARRANTY OR CONDITION OF MERCHANTABILITY, THE IMPLIED WARRANTY OR CONDITION OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OR CONDITION ARISING OUT OF A COURSE OF DEALING OR OF PERFORMANCE, CUSTOM, OR USAGE OF TRADE, ARE LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE APPLICABLE WARRANTY TIME PERIOD.

Note that some state laws do not permit limitations on the length of an implied warranty. In this case, the limitation above may not apply.

Limitations of Liability

Except where prohibited by law, STEK and the installer/dealer of the product(s) shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from the use of the product(s), whether direct, indirect, special, incidental, or consequential, regardless of the legal theory asserted, including warranty, contract, negligence, or strict liability. Note that some states/regions/countries do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the aforementioned limitation or exclusion may not apply.

Limitations

The warranty and remedies above are available exclusively for the described product(s). STEK installers/dealers cannot modify or extend this limited warranty. STEK shall be solely responsible for determining the validity of all claims and reserves the right to deny claims that do not meet the above criteria. Replacement of the defective film, including labor, is the exclusive remedy. Liability does not extend to any other damages: incidental, consequential, or otherwise.

Maintenance & Care Instructions (PPF & top-coated PPF)

  1. Do not wash the vehicle for 48 hours following installation.
  2. Avoid directly spraying the edges of the PPF with a pressure washer or nozzle. Doing so may lift the edge of the film. If using a high-pressure washer, keep the nozzle at least 36 inches above the film’s surface.
  3. Do not use pigmented waxes, abrasive waxes, or waxes containing naphtha or kerosene.
  4. Do not use abrasive pads or harsh chemicals on the film.
  5. If desired, wax the car and film at least once every 6 months after testing for compatibility.
  6. Remove stains as soon as possible. Use isopropyl alcohol to remove stubborn stains. Avoid cleaning the film in direct sunlight or in high temperatures.
  7. To remove the film, pull the film from a corner at an angle less than 90° from the surface of the car. If the film has been installed for a number of years, it may be more difficult to remove. In that case, a steamer, heat gun, or hair dryer may be used to soften the adhesive. After removing the film, adhesive residue may remain on the vehicle body. This residue may be easily removed using the STEK adhesive remover.
  8. Minor bubbles, milkiness, or patchiness may occur post-installation and can take up to 30 days to disappear.
  9. Use only approved PPF sealants, and avoid using any harsh chemicals on the film.
  10. Due to its self-healing abilities, light scratches on STEK top-coated paint protection films (PPFs) may be removed by applying hot water or a heat gun over the affected area(s). Note that if a scratch has penetrated the top coat, it will not self-heal. This is typical of any top-coated PPF.
  11. Test all waxes or after-market sealants before application to PPFs. Not all products are compatible with PPF top coats. Extremely hydrophobic PPF top coats may interfere with the application of waxes or other coatings.
  12. STEK recommends hand-washing cars protected with PPF. While the top coat may have self-healing abilities, using automatic car washes increases the likelihood of surface scratching. Though minor scratches may self-heal, deeper scratches may remain if they have penetrated the top coat and will VOID the Warranty.

CERAMIC COATING GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

CURING TIME
Your new ceramic coating will take 10 days to fully cure and 4 hours to dry after the last layer is applied. Do not wash your vehicle until the curing process is complete. Afterward, only hand washes should be used to maintain the coating. Using machine or tunnel car washes will void all warranties.

WATER SPOTS
Washing vehicles with unfiltered water, especially in direct sunlight, can cause water spot staining. The client understands that the longer the water spots remain, the harder they are to remove. Compass Tinting LLC will not be liable for any water spot damage.

CONDITION OF VEHICLE FOR CERAMIC COATING
It is recommended that paint correction be performed before ceramic coating is applied. The client acknowledges that coating uncorrected areas may result in less effective protection. By waiving the paint correction service, the client understands that the coating will be less effective on uncorrected areas.

FILM, BADGE, & DECAL REMOVAL
Removing films, badges, or decals may damage the substrate. By authorizing Compass Tinting LLC to proceed with the removal, the client acknowledges the risk, waives any claims against Compass Tinting LLC, and agrees that Compass Tinting LLC will not be liable in the event of damage.

PAINT CORRECTION
Paint correction can remove most light scratches, swirls, and minor defects from the vehicle’s clear coat. However, the client understands that some imperfections may remain even after the paint correction process.

WET SANDING
Wet sanding is used to remove the top layer of the clear coat. This technique carries inherent risks. Compass Tinting LLC will only use this method when the only alternatives are wet sanding or repainting. Compass Tinting LLC assumes no responsibility for additional damage caused by wet sanding. It is highly recommended that ceramic coating be applied after wet sanding to replenish the clear coat.

CERAMIC COATING
Ceramic coating is an SIO2 (silicon dioxide) coating that provides UV protection and makes the vehicle easier to clean. The coating is not scratch-proof. It is recommended that paint protection film (clear bra) be applied to high-impact areas like the bumper, hood, fenders, and mirrors before applying the ceramic coating to prevent rock chips.

WINDSHIELD
Due to frequent rain in Washington State, windshield wipers are used more often, which can affect the durability of the windshield coating. The client understands that weather conditions will influence the coating’s effectiveness. There is no warranty on windshield coating durability.

INTERIOR COATING
If liquid or other substances come into contact with upholstery, clean them immediately to prevent staining. The longer the substance remains, the more likely it is to stain. There is no warranty on interior fabric staining.

WHEELS OFF COATING
Brake dust and road debris should be cleaned off wheels and calipers as soon as possible to avoid staining. Wheel coating is not recommended for bare aluminum wheels. If bare aluminum wheels are coated, there will be no warranty provided. A two-year warranty is available for wheels and calipers, and the client is responsible for re-torquing wheels to manufacturer specifications.

MAINTENANCE & ANNUAL INSPECTIONS
We recommend bi-weekly washes and annual inspections after the installation date to ensure proper maintenance of the ceramic coating. Annual maintenance services are available for a fee of $248 (cars), $298 (SUV/Truck), and $325+ (oversized vehicles) to include hand washing, decontamination, and SIO2 ceramic coating application.

VINYL WRAPS GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

VEHICLE PREPARATION

  • All vehicles must be washed with water and soap before drop-off. Any wax or chemicals left on the surface will interfere with vinyl adhesion, and Compass Tinting LLC is not liable for vinyl that fails to adhere or cure properly due to improper cleaning.
  • Compass Tinting LLC is not responsible for removing or reinstalling moldings or trim unless agreed upon in advance.

INSTALLATION PARAMETERS

  • Vinyl material is a pliable plastic, and while Compass Tinting LLC strives for a seamless look, there may be curves, bumps, and moldings that vinyl cannot perfectly conform to. Stretching may cause shrinkage over time, and relief cuts may be required.
  • Areas with body damage, rust, or imperfections will show through the vinyl and may cause premature failure.

VINYL REMOVAL
Removing vinyl wrap may cause damage to the paint or existing decals. Compass Tinting LLC is not liable for any damage during the removal process, especially when pre-existing damage or poor paint quality is involved.

AFTERCARE FOR VINYL WRAPS

  • Hand wash vinyl-wrapped vehicles bi-monthly with soft cloths and mild detergents.
  • Avoid strong water jets, brushes, or harsh chemicals, as these can degrade the vinyl.
  • Never wax or clay bar a vinyl wrap, as this will shorten the life of the wrap and cause discoloration or cracking.

POLICIES

  • I agree that Compass Tinting LLC may use photographs of me and my property with or without my name for lawful purposes, such as publicity, illustration, advertising, and web content.
  • Compass Tinting LLC is not responsible for losses or damages to vehicles or articles left in vehicles in case of fire, theft, or other causes beyond our control.
  • Compass Tinting LLC will not be liable for damages incurred directly or indirectly to vehicles, operators, or passengers.
  • I authorize the services described above to be performed using the necessary materials and grant permission for the operation of the vehicle on streets, highways, or elsewhere for pickup and/or delivery. An express mechanic’s lien is acknowledged on the vehicle to secure the payment for services rendered.
